POLICE in Redditch are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered chest injuries in a road crash near Wythall.

The accident happened in in Grimpits Lane, Walkers Heath, at about 10.50pm on Wednesday, August 14, and involved a blue coloured Volvo S40.

At this stage of the inquiry, police do not believe there were any other vehicles involved.

The car flipped onto its roof and the male driver from Redditch had to be cut free from by firefighters.

He was taken to Selly Oak Hospital with chest injuries and is now in a stable condition.

Inquiries are continuing into the accident and anyone who saw the incident is asked to call the Road Policing Unit at Redditch on 584888.
