TRIBUTE band Fred Zeppelin will be rocking Tyler's Lock this week prior to a gig at Redditch's Hewell Road Social Club next month.

The four-strong band are real fans who formed The Freds out of their admiration and love of Led Zep's music.

They are keen to point out they are a tribute rather than a clone band who "resist dressing up in '70s gear and silly wigs like contenders for Stars in their Eyes".

Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant has seen them perform three times in the eight years Fred Zeppelin have been together, and John Bonham's son Jason also attended a gig and jammed with them on stage.

Their achievements so far include performing to a crowd of 15,000 at Derby's outdoor Rock 'n' Blues Festival and taking part in a film called Large.

The Freds perform at Tyler's Lock, London Lane, Tardebigge, on Friday and Hewell Road Social Club, Hewell Road, on Friday, September 27.

Doors to both gigs open at 8.30pm.
