POLICE are appealing for witnesses after three masked men raided the Q8 Service Station on the A435 near Redditch, stealing money and cigarettes.

The raid happened at about 10pm last Wednesday, when a masked man walked into the shop part of the petrol station and warned the female cashier to keep away and she would not be hurt.

He then jumped over the counter and stole a quantity of cash and cigarettes.

The two other raiders were waiting in an H-registered, light coloured Rover 200, which is believed to have been stolen from Marlbrook Auto Centre, in Bromsgrove, between 6pm and 10pm the same day.

The three then drove off.

The man who stole from the shop was white and wearing casual clothing and a balaclava.

A police spokesman said the cashier was not hurt during the incident but was shaken.

Forensic examinations have been carried out at the garage and CCTV tapes are now being viewed.

Anyone with information is asked to call Redditch police on 584888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
