A brave Spa man is gearing up for the adventure of a lifetime to raise money for a children's charity.

Nick Ashford, of The Firs, will be travelling to Peru in October to take part in a 10 day trek to discover the lost world of the Incas.

Now the 27-year-old needs the help of kind-hearted members of the public to help raise £2,500 for the Acorns Children's Hospice Trust.

During the 10 day trek he will walk from Cusco, the ancient Inca capital, to Machu Picchi, which is known as the city in the clouds which the Spanish invaders never discovered.

Nick, who works in the wholesale department of Webbs of Wychbold, has been training hard to prepare himself for the task but now needs the support of townsfolk and companies to secure his place.

"I have to raise £2,500 to be able to go on the trip and so far I have raised about £1,000, so I really need all of the help I can get."

Nick is no stranger to a challenge as he took on Nepal when he was younger.

"I went on a trip with my school to deliver text books to a remote schools in Nepal," he said:

"I'm really looking forward to it as it's the opportunity of a lifetime. I've always wanted to trek along the Inca Trail, so when I found out I could do that and raise money for the charity I saw it as the perfect opportunity."
