BROMSGROVE residents aged 50 and over are being offered cut price fitness deals during National Stroke Week, which runs from Sunday, September 29, to Saturday, October 5.

Leisure chiefs at the district council have put together an inviting package to encourage people to keep in good shape under the 'Love Life, Live Life, Stay Fit!' plan.

The reductions are on offer at the town's Dolphin Sports Centre, in School Drive.

Councillor Brian Taylor, (Con-Alvechurch) who is the cabinet member responsible for leisure, said: "We all need to consider our health, whatever age we are, to ensure we get the best from life.

"Here in Bromsgrove we are doing our best to offer a wide range of fitness programmes to keep everybody in tip-top condition.

"Keeping fit not only keeps us healthy but can aid recovery from illness," he added.

Frances Johnson, Bromsgrove District Council's marketing and tourism manager, said: "Please come along and take advantage of these special offers. They are only available during National Stroke Week but their benefits will last much longer."

The fitness suite special offers will include free membership for a year, free induction of both the cardiovascular and weight gyms and a 50 per cent discount on off-peak monthly passes.

Qualified instructors are on hand to offer help and advice for newcomers and to monitor regular visitors.
