THE letter from N Taylor (You Say, August 12) corrects my recent statement that Mr Blair was "elected on the votes of only 40 odd per cent of the voting population."
The correspondent goes on to confirm my stated facts, which confused me a little! I then realised that your correspondent was referring to the percentage of "votes cast", which my letter never referred to.
There is a huge difference between "the voting population and votes cast!"
BILL HARRISON,
Droitwich.
