FORMULA 3 star Stefan Hodgetts wants a top ten finish in the next round at Snetterton after two 13th place finishes at Oulton Park.

Hodgetts qualified 12th for the first race at the weekend and quickly climbed two places before the heavens opened.

Despite racing on slicks, Hodgetts continued to climb the field, gaining several places in a tremendous lap before the race was flagged to a finish because of the conditions.

Unfortunately for the youngster, Hodgetts' final position was determined by where he had finished the previous complete lap - a disappointing 13th.

Things went from bad to worse for the Motaworld star as he qualified 19th for the second race in brighter conditions.

But he again climbed the field and was more satisified with his second 13th place of the weekend.

"It was two solid results but we are definitely top ten material now and for future races," said the teenage speedster.

"By Snetterton we should have a good meeting."

Hodgetts is back in action on August 31.

l WINYATES ace Andy Burbidge will be trying to keep up with EMRA series title rival Tony Meredith at Pembray at the weekend.

Burbidge holds a 24 point advantage over his nearest rival but acknowledged the Welsh circuit was one of his rival's favourites.

"Pembray is all about speed because it has two long, fast straights," said Burbidge.

"It's Tony's favourite circuit and will be an uphill struggle for me."

And Burbidge is back in action at Darley Moor on Monday.
