DEAR EDITOR - It is pleasing to note that at last there are people responding to the council plans affecting Droitwich.

It would be nice if Edgar (the previous Town Crier) would pick up his bell and create even more public awareness.

I am not sure what point Mr Gameson is making, but it is nice to note that a person from the 60's Birmingham overspill is involved in comment.

Thanks to Edgar Harwood, John Yardley and W.E.Cotton for their very relevant input.

And thanks to both local newspapers for bringing details of the plans out of the Letters pages in such a dramatic way.

I note that even the councils are concerned about the lack of response.

As this is a democracy, I believe that the votes registered in the Parish Poll should be entered - for and against the Waitrose project.

Few people have commented about the Worcestershire Hotel and possible uses.

Let your views be known. Do we really want another set of apartments replacing this previous wonderful piece of architecture?

I suppose £96,000 extra in council tax makes this a nice 'cash cow.'

Mr Gameson mentioned the Winter Gardens which doubled as the Droitwich Cinema after Salters closed. This, attached to the Spa's lido would be complementary.

Send your views to Wychavon District Council, and have your say before it is too late.

Jim Brant,

Droitwich.
