REDDITCH skipper Nev Mason has told his side one more win will banish any lingering relegation fears.

After losing their early impetus, the Bromsgrove Road club decided to use the season to bed in some of their talented youngsters for next year.

The policy has paid dividends with four players featuring regularly already and a weekend win over Penn boosted spirits.

Penn, taking first innings, lost an early wicket, then Pickin (71) and O'Sullivan (33) took the score to 115 before the second wicket fell.

Spinners Mason 4-57 and John Lostitch 5-53 then ripped through the remaining batting, leaving Penn all out for 177.

After slumping to 28-3 Ben Davis took a responsible innings of 74 with superb support from Chris Gibson, back to his best form with 80no to see Redditch to victory with six overs to spare.

"We needed a win," said the captain.

"We had a chat before the game and bowled and fielded really well as a team.

"Another result and we will be safe but we should be safe already."

The Division Two West side entertain Penkridge on Saturday and Fordhouses on bank holiday Monday (both 12.30pm start).
