ASTWOOD Bank stayed out of the Worcestershire One relegation zone by the slenderest of margins at the weekend despite a defeat to fourth placed Luctonians.

Alex Robinson's side started the day one point ahead of relegation-threatened Chaddesley Corbett but picked up only three points against Luctonians while Chaddesley pocketed four in a defeat to Pedmore to draw level.

The Bank are perched on the brink of the drop zone with four matches to play by virtue of winning more fixtures and have a do-or-die home clash against Chaddesley Corbett on bank holiday Monday (1pm start).

Bank have been in and out of the drop zone all season after climbing from Division Three in successive seasons but things could have been worse at the weekend if any of their rivals had avoided defeat.

Romsley lost to Pershore and fourth from bottom Hagley went down to Netherton as results went by the form book.

But before Monday's relegation dogfight, the Sambourne Lane side visit Pershore on Saturday (1pm start).

l ANDY Fletcher's Feckenham are in danger of being dragged into the Division two relegation zone after losing to Eastnor at the weekend.

ALVECHURCH need just 14 points from their last two matches to ensure promotion to Division Two of the Worcestershire County League.

Nick Jones' side continued their impressive form with a maximum points win over Birlingham.

The Birmingham Road side sit second, 35 points ahead of nearest rivals Belbroughton who picked up only 20 points at the weekend.

The result means 14 points would see Alvechurch claim the second promotion spot even if Belbroughton pick up a maximum 24 points in each of their remaining matches.

And Alvechurch can seal the runners-up spot with a win at home to Alveley on Saturday (1pm start).
