MARK Weaver's team from Kidderminster's Gilt Edge club featured in an amazing see-saw encounter in the opening round of the All-England Bowls Fours Championship at Worthing.
Weaver and his club mates Ray Vickers, Chris Lane and John Reynolds made a storming start against Brian Taylor's County Arts side from Norwich rampaging 10-0 ahead over the first six ends.
But Taylor piled up 16 shots over seven successive ends to go ahead 18-14 with just four ends to play.
Back came Weaver with two singles, but his hopes of victory were rocked as Taylor swooped with a four stretching his lead to 22-16.
But Weaver was not finished and he notched a six at the last end, drawing level at 22-22 to force the match into sudden death.
It was Taylor, however, who landed the KO blow, winning the extra end to edge through 23-22.
