REHEARSALS will soon be under way for Astwood Bank Operatic Society's next production, Lerner and Loewe's Brigadoon.
The show, which runs at the Palace Theatre from March 4-8, will be a bit of a diversion for ABOS, whose repertoire is usually based on light operettas and Gilbert and Sullivan works.
The production will also stretch the company's human resources to the limit so ABOS is on the lookout for more younger men to join, "preferably those with a gift of song and dance".
An ABOS spokesman said: "We're delighted Beverley Hatton has agreed to act as producer after many successful productions with Redditch Operatic Society and we are pleased to welcome back Arthur Wrench as musical director after a three-year absence."
Rehearsals start at 7.30pm on Monday, September 2, at the Methodist Hall, High Street, Astwood Bank, and auditions will be held on Friday, October 4 , at the same venue.
The spokesman said: "We hope to see all our regular friends and particularly new members."
