FOLLOWING the letter from Mr Pittaway, I would like to comment further.

I agree Studley Park is a mess. Yes, they mow the grass, but they do nothing with the verges.

Weeds grow furiously through the wooden fence so that both inside the park and along the pathways outside, the park is an eyesore.

I thought all contractors used strimmers these days for the edges.

Does Warwickshire County Council funding not run to this for Studley, I wonder?

Les Topham is on the millennium and the parish councils. Am I correct in saying he owns a plant nursery? Does he not care about his reputation?

Also, on the subject of spending - or wasting - money, I would like to comment on the new ''leisure centre'' facilities.

I used the swimming pool this week and was absolutely appalled when I showered. Half the wall tiles are missing and the floor is an accident waiting to happen.

I actually know someone who hurt her foot on the metal grilles that surround the shower area and, to be frank, I am not surprised.

Instead of one continuous piece of metal, countersunk, there are several short pieces wedged together. The edges of all these have sprung up, making them extremely dangerous.

As if that were not bad enough, they are rusty.

The entrance of the leisure centre is very badly designed.

If I worked there, I think I should die as there is no air circulating and, as far as I could tell, no windows to let air in. I had to wait to be served and when I had finished, I looked like I had just showered.

For goodness sake, why do the people of Studley put up with such shoddy workmanship?

Come on folks, the more voices heard the greater the chance of something being done about these awful blots.
