A 28-year-old woman, with a history of depression, was found hanging from a bannister at her Worcester home.
Karen Meadows was found dead on Saturday, August 17, hanging by her dressing gown cord.
Worcestershire coroner Victor Round opened the inquest at County Hall yesterday.
He said Miss Meadow, of Melbourne Street, Barbourne, had a history of depression and previous attempts at self-harming.
He adjourned the hearing to a date to be fixed.
