PLANS to replace a bungalow in Colletts Green with five houses have been delayed so district councillors can look at the site for themselves.
The outline scheme has drawn objections from villagers who say the development at 21, Bowling Green Road, will create traffic that the road cannot handle. They also say drainage, lighting and water pressure are inadequate.
A mini-roundabout suggested by highways officers to improve the safety of the junction of Bowling Green Road with Sparrowhall Lane and Colletts Green Road is considered to be an urban intrusion in the rural area.
But officers said it would have a calming effect on traffic from the A449 using Sparrowhall Lane as a "rat run".
Malvern Hills District Council planning officers said the site was within the Colletts Green development boundary, and the low density of the development was in keeping with the area.
They recommended the planning committee to grant planning permission, but members said they wanted to see the site before making a decision.
