THE family of a Worcester youngster battling an unknown digestive condition are heading for their first holiday thanks to a city pub.
Two-year-old Lauren Davis has barely been out of hospital in her life but, after a year of fund-raising by the Fox Inn, St John's, she is now looking forward to a trip to the seaside.
Her grandmother, Josie Cornes, said they were relishing the prospect of the break at Minehead's Butlin's resort.
"We're really looking forward to it," said Mrs Cornes, who helps her daughter Amanda with Lauren's care. "We hope she doesn't come down with anything beforehand.
"Lauren's doing really well. She's been out of hospital for 16 weeks.
"We've never been able to plan for a holiday, so we're very grateful the Fox did this for us."
Lauren, who now lives in Essex Close, Dines Green, spent the first seven months of her life in hospital.
Doctors have still not been able to say why Lauren cannot digest her food properly.
