KIDDERMINSTER should have won their low scoring Birmingham Cricket League Division One game against Wellington but in the end had to settle for a losing draw.

They won the toss and put Wellington in and conceded just 46 runs off the first 17 overs before Mandeep Singh claimed the first of his four wickets.

Chris Liptrot, limited in his number of overs as he recovers from injury, and Luke Eversham, at 17 years old restricted by the rules, performed well.

Evershasm, making his first team debut, had only seven runs taken off his six overs, two of which were maidens, while Liptrot conceded just 18 off his first six, but went for 13 off his seventh.

The only Wellington batsman to show any great resistance was Adam Byram. With only his opening partner Martin getting into double figures, his 83 runs kept Wellington from embarrassment.

He was out with the score on 133 in the 46th over. Wellington's last four wickets could only muster 20 more runs 7 overs before they were bowled out for 153.

But Kidderminster soon lost Mansell and Steve Davies, fresh from England Under 17 duty, and were 25-2 in the ninth oveer

Mandeep Singh had scored a century at Bedworth the previous Saturday and once again showed his quality. He and Liptrot added 25 runs before the latter was out for 15.

Richard Bradford (21) was going well and he and Singh looked set to win the game, but having scored 39 Singh was out to an outstanding catch

In the end it was left to two 17-year- olds, Eversham and Mark Venross to bat out the final five overs on 132-9.
