CANNY recyclers have been waiting for some warm summer days to help boost their efforts.
The more people need to cool down with cold drinks, the more aluminium cans are available to be collected and recycled.
Alucan recycling centres like W Prosser Metal Merchant, of Hylton Road, Worcester, are keen to help people make some extra cash through recycling.
They could pay out more than £30m if all the aluminium drinks cans sold in the UK were recycled this year, but recyclers are currently claiming just over one third of this money.
Many charities, schools, community groups and individuals have found that recycling aluminium cans is a good way to raise funds, at the same time saving natural resources, reducing litter and saving energy.
Recycling saves up to 95 per cent of the energy used to produce aluminium from raw materials.
