THE late Paul Eddington of TV's The Good Life had this to say about Malvern Theatres: "It deserves every penny of support it is given because it is a marvellous thing for the town and the surrounding area."

It could not do without its volunteers who contribute an awful lot. I can think of no other theatre of its kind, which works so effectively and well.

What would happen to these volunteers if the theatres go commercial? It is probable their services would be dispensed with. Not only do they save the theatres expense, but they enjoy a social side which would be greatly missed by the many who participate.
