A WOMAN whose pint glass injured a love rival in a nightclub told a jury she had not acted deliberately.

Nicola Mosley claimed Charlotte Owen pushed the glass into her face during a row over an ex-boyfriend of them both.

Giving evidence at Worcester Crown Court, Owen said that she had ''absolutely no intention'' of using the glass as a weapon.

She said the glass broke as they pushed each other in the Eros club, Hereford, accidentally injuring the victim.

Owen, aged 21, of Foley Street, Hereford, denies unlawful wounding.

In an interview played to the jury, she alleged that Miss Mosley shouted at her to draw her attention and then pushed her a number of times.

She accused Miss Mosley of punching her in the face before the lager glass she was holding was broken and caused Miss Mosley her injuries.

She said she did not mean to injure Miss Mosley and felt bad about it afterwards. ''It wasn't intentional. I didn't aim at her,'' she added.

Owen told the jury that words were fed into her mouth by police. She declined having a solicitor present at the interview after being told she was being questioned over an assault.

But she came to realise she was being quizzed about a more serious offence, although she was not given a caution.

If she had been cautioned, she added, she would have insisted on having a solicitor to advise her in the interview.

Her barrister, Kevin Hegarty, asked her whether she had lunged at the victim with the glass or had thrown the glass at her. She denied both suggestions.

The trial continues.
