A MUSIC industry management student from Kidderminster College has "adder" good idea about how to spend his summer.
Nineteen-year-old Richard Attwood, better known as King Rich, is heading for churches in southern USA to research the slithery antics of The Serpent Handling Believers. King Rich prepares for his slithery journey.
Rich, the lead singer with AK - The Almighty Kings, is planning to spend time with the Christian faction, which uses snake rituals as part of its worship, to provide inspiration for a forthcoming exhibition and record, King Rich's Holy Horrors.
He plans to take photographs and use his research to create music which captures the beliefs of the controversial faction, which has been lambasted by other religious groups.
The Serpent Handling Believers are said to "hold, nuzzle and cavort" with deadly snakes and suffer no ill-effects if bitten.
