A FEAST of theatrical delights from high energy musicals to serious drama has been unveiled for autumn by Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre.

In a programme which lives up to the theatre's promise to offer something for everyone, the season includes a production by the Royal National Theatre, West End musicals, Shakespeare, classical ballet and gripping thrillers as well as a raunchy adult comedy.

Fans of West End all-singing, all-dancing musicals are in for a treat with Fame - The Musical in September followed by Annie during October.

Fame features a 35-strong cast of the most talented young stage performers in the UK while Annie is the ideal family musical telling the rags to riches tale of the red-headed orphan and her battles with the evil Miss Hannigan played by TV star Su Pollard.

If drama is more to taste, Mark McGann (Shackleton), Colin Baker (Dr Who) and Louise Jameson (Rosa Di Marco in Eastenders) star in the award winning comedy thriller Corpse! In September about a man who decides to kill his identical twin in order to gain his fortune.

This is followed in October by the world's most famous detective as Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson solve a family curse in The Hound of the Baskervilles on stage for the first time. This production features some of the scariest effects ever seen at the Everyman.

For those who prefer their plays at a slightly frothier pace, what better way to while away time than with Jane Austen's Emma in October.

Classical theatre enthusiasts are also well catered for by the appearance of the Everyman's own production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. In October, Moscow Ballet will visit to perform Swan Lake.

National Theatre and Out Of Joint's co-production of the classic comedy She Stoops to Conquer and a world premiere of a new play A Laughing Matter appear together in rep in November.

Comedy fans will love the stand up antics of Al Murray who brings his Who Dares Wines tour to Gloucestershire in October followed by a brand new comedy by John Godber - Men of the World - which tells the story of three middle-aged coach drivers and their trip through Europe with 30 pensioners.

Pulses will really be racing with the return of the boys from Blue Watch in the risqu adults-only comedy Naked Flame 2 in November.

The season is rounded off with a traditional family pantomime Dick Whittington. With more than 8,000 tickets already sold, this promises to sell out in record time. The Everyman's studio theatre The Other Space also features a wealth of home-grown and touring productions.
