BROMSGROVE CC Seconds moved into the second half of their season with a 56-run victory at Wroxeter and Uppington.

The Boars batted first on a wet wicket and struggled to get off the mark. After 11 overs of stubborn resistance, Nash (11) departed to make way for Ross Liddell.

Liddell (30) and Bennison (34) patiently constructed a partnership of 54 before Tom Hope (29) and Derek Croal took up the attack.

Hope's demise brought in Lee Mortlock who bludgeoned a quick fire 22 to help the Boars post 168-9 from 50 overs.

In reply, Wroxeter were on the back foot from the off as Liddell bowled opener Brearley with his first delivery before following up with a miserly 18-over spell of 4-43.

Nash was also in good from, tearing through the middle order with 3-19 from seven overs.

As the runs dried up, Mortlock and he took the last wicket to close the Wroxeter innings on 112.
