Three star

WITH plenty of laughs, risqu jokes and special effects, the Wayans brothers return with the second of this comedy/horror series.

Despite being a sequel - i.e. something usually viewed with contempt and cries of 'they're never as good as the first' - this is actually not a bad watch.

The script takes no prisoners, taking off films and shows like Poltergeist, The Exorcist, Hannibal, The House on Haunted Hill, Charlie's Angels and even The Weakest Link

The plot centres around some teenagers locked in a haunted house which has a nightmarish history of possession and exorcism - and only they can rid it of its demons.

What stops this being a great film is the actors themselves - or one in particular. Marlon Wayans was guaranteed a part in this film. He co-wrote it and his big bruv is director.

Unfortunately his acting, or more accurately, over-acting is so ludicrous viewers will be left with just gums when their teeth are ground down in irritation.

The rest of the cast give adequate performances, particularly Tim Curry, but then he does have more than the just the first Scary Movie on his acting CV.

The DVD also features deleted sections, featurettes and behind the scenes.
