A KIND-HEARTED Spa man will be jetting into the unknown this month as a Christian volunteer in Argentina.

Chris Fielding, of Birch Coppice, will be travelling to a small Argentinean town called Campo Quijano next Tuesday to offer help and support to townspeople.

The 21-year-old, who has just completed a BSc degree in building surveying at Reading University, is holding a bring-and-buy and cake sale this weekend to try and raise the £1,300 to support himself.

The event will be held at the Parish Centre, in St Andrew's Street, on Saturday morning.

The former Droitwich Spa High School student, will be travelling with a Christian volunteer mission organisation called Latin Link.

He will stay in the poor town for seven weeks to do building and decorating, community work, distribute clothing and literature to the local community and to work with the children.

His fiance Elizabeth Smith featured in the Advertiser last year when she travelled to the war-torn country of Lebanon to work with orphans.

Chris said: "I am very excited about the trip as I have never experienced anything like this.

"It is also a bit daunting and may be very challenging at times as I will be living in a very poor area with a very different culture."
