CHURCHGOERS in Bromsgrove are being urged to hop onto their bikes or into their cars and help give back something to a charity which has given generously to a town church.

Families in Bromsgrove and the surrounding villages are being urged to take part in a sponsored tour of churches on Saturday, September 14, to raise funds for the Historic Churches Trust.

Last year, the trust gave the town's All Saints' Church a grant of £6,000 towards the restoration of its tower.

It was the largest grant the trust handed out during the year.

It is now asking all the churches in the county to help out by taking part in the event, either by visiting churches or sponsoring someone who does.

The aim is to visit as many churches as possible during the day and collect as much sponsorship money as you can.

All funds collected are sent to the trust and you nominate the church you wish to help.

The trust puts half of your funds into its kitty to enable it to hand out grants to churches in need, like All Saints' last year, and the other half to the church you have chosen to nominate.

Sponsorship forms are available from Mike Carrick on 01527 873135.
