THE Alexandra Hospital's League of Friends is to buy two special beds for the orthopaedic and trauma wards after the success of this year's fete.
Members hoped to raise £10,000 for the beds, which will enable staff to make seriously ill patients more comfortable and reduce the physical effort needed to attend to their needs.
The total raised so far stands at £9,066 but money is still rolling in.
