WYTHALL speedster Barry Pearson spent a frustrating weekend on antibiotics instead of competing in round five of the VW Vento Championship at Brands Hatch.
Veteran Pearson was all set for the latest round of the Ventos and had been offered a drive in the saloon cars race for what would have been a busy weekend.
But he was put out of action by an abcess and the subsequent treatment left him a frustrated spectator at home.
He is aiming to return to the Ventos series at Snetterton in the penultimate round on August 31.
