AT last Manor Park Outdoor Bowls Club is achieving some good results.
Jean Meek partnering Juanita Lyon and Dorothy Thomas with Gill Lloyd have won through to the second round of the County Pairs which will be played this week.
The Ladies section won their first round of the Top Club on Sunday, June 9 beating Bredon Ladies in the singles, pairs, triples and rinks. They play the next round at Overbury tomorrow (Saturday).
The ladies then went on to beat Victoria Ladies on Tuesday, June 11 in what has become a local derby.
The men's section played the Vernon Turner against Hewell Men on Friday, June 7 achieving resounding wins on all four rinks.
After all this heady success the club lost their next two friendly matches, one against Inkberrow and the other against Gilt Edge. In the latter game Jean Meek and Matt Wilson with their teams had very good wins but not sufficiently good to carry the game.
