FURTHER to your recent article about Upton Marina Holiday Village, I hope that I may have the opportunity to set the record straight on one or two points raised:

1. We do not propose any building in the flood plain. The extension of the Marina basin is the only thing that is proposed in the flood plain, and this has been approved in principle by the Environment Agency.

2.The traffic impact analysis, which has been carried out independently by Dossor Blackham of Worcester, in conjunction with the County Highways Department, has projected appropriate background traffic increases over the period of the development.

This does not affect the findings of the report, which has concluded that the impact of the development will be minimal.

The proposed right-hand turning lane at the Marina entrance is a nationally accepted safe method of turning right, and in fact is a measure far in excess of the required standard for the number of vehicles using it.

Thank you for the chance to make these facts public.

STEVE ARBER,

Manager, Upton Marina.
