THE STAGE of the Arts Centre Theatre in Evesham is set to come alive when it is taken over by a young vital group of dancers.

CWMNI Ballet, Independent Ballet Wales, is presenting its vital interpretation of Shakespeare's delightful comedy of the sexes The Taming of the Shrew on Saturday, June 15.

Made famous by the 1968 film featuring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, this whimsical and entertaining play is ready for reawakening in ballet.

Featuring original choreography by company artistic director Dares James, it fuses elements of the finest classical ballet with dramatic physical theatre, following the outstanding success of Romeo and Juliet last year.

Stunning costumes have been specially devised for the production by Welsh designer Yvonne Williams.

Striking and remarkable sets designed by the team that brought Romeo and Juliet to vivid life, feature a clean, three dimensional style unique to the company.
