THE latest in a series of fund-raising gigs for Kidderminster Hospital takes place in Stourbridge this weekend.

Bands from Wyre Forest, Kidderminster College and the college's own record label are aiming to raise cash for new equipment and beds at the GP unit and rehab centre.

Weak13, Team:Creak, Another 6 Weeks, Curb, Crux South and AK His Majesty's Circle will take to the stage at the Rock Cafe 2000 on Sunday.

A similar event was held at Kidderminster's Ye Olde Seven Stars last month and the final gig, planned for the Tap House on Sunday, July 21, is set to last all-day and be "lots of fun", according to organiser Claire Berry.

The Kidderminster College student was born without an oesophagus and only part of a windpipe and is keen to help the medical profession as she received more than 10 years' treatment in London and Birmingham.

The Amateurs, Curb, The Bullfrogs, New Artic. Set, Superreal and Superseed are some of the names lined up to take part in the summer spectacular.

Bands have also contributed to a 15-track CD which will be sold to raise more cash for the cause.

Money can also be donated at Ye Olde Seven Stars and the Tap House.
