IT might be the Queen's Golden Jubilee but one Kidderminster couple had a more important milestone to celebrate.

Reg and Eileen Postans have been married for 50 years and celebrated the golden landmark with a party for family and friends on Friday.

But the relationship started out on a strictly business basis - Reg, 77, was Eileen's boss when they both worked in an office at former electrical engineering firm B French.

First daughter Hilary arrived just in time for the Queen's coronation in 1953 and another daughter, Linda, followed, as well as four grandchildren. Reg and Eileen Postans have celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Reg and Eileen, 70, were both born in Kidderminster. Reg was a keen trumpet player who played with a number of orchestras and bands, and was involved in a performance for Prince Charles in the 1970s.

He is also known for playing The Last Post on Remembrance Day at the war memorial outside St Mary's Church in Kidderminster.

His day job was as a buyer for B French, while Eileen gave up work when the couple started a family.

Their children and grandchildren all still live in the district.
