MAKING memories was the order of the day for staff and pupils celebrating the jubilee at Heathfield School in Wolverley.
Every child and staff member was given a bone china commemorative mug to mark the occasion at a special assembly on Friday while a host of events were arranged.
Children dressed in red, white and blue - or as figures from Britain's history - and staff even got in on the act. Five-year-old Emilio Mairoudi and Charlotte Blunt, 15, are pictured with staff members Sally Walker and Jenny Daw toasting Her Majesty with their jubilee mugs.
Reception class students baked and decorated a large cake which was sliced and shared among lower junior school children.
Headteacher George Sinton said: "I still have the mug that was given to me to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II's coronation and I have always treasured it.
"I wanted the children at Heathfield to receive something they could also treasure in times to come."
