THERE was all the fun of the fair at the Hare and Hounds, Shenstone, which lined up a packed programme of activities for Monday's celebrations.

All proceeds from the day will go towards Kemp Hospice and hospice trustee Terry Wilcox opened the event with a big thanks on behalf of staff, volunteers and patients. Kemp Hospice trustee Terry Wilcox gets the fun under way at Shenstone.

Among the attractions on offer was a dog show, treasure hunt for the children, general knowledge quiz inside the pub, bouncy castle and a variety of stalls. John Gough puts six-year-old border collie Brassie through its paces.

Entertainment later in the evening included a barbecue with music from Redditch-based band Man Over Board, Stourbridge and Wall Heath-based Malantra Falls and a solo acoustic set from Pete Zimmer.

Mr Wilcox said a similar event in 2000 had raised more than £300 and £623 in 2001.

The hospice was hoping this year's event would break the £1,000 barrier.
