AFTER my published comment in the Evening News (You Say, May 22) which read "immigration must always be a difficult subject to discuss without one's motives being misinterpreted or exploited by someone", someone has lost no time in doing just that.

This morning I received in the post with full address and postcode copies of the BNP's magazine Identity and newspaper Freedom worth £1.95 and 45p respectively.

Unfortunately, the sender included no compliment slip enclosing best wishes and signature, but the packet was postmarked Northampton and cost 46p to send.

The BNP's subscription office thought that a keen member interested in media monitoring had read my letter and informed other keen members in Northampton who thought it worthwhile to send some unsolicited literature.

I believe an ex-member contributes to these pages sometimes. I don't share the BNP's approach to politics and it was not worthwhile.

My main reason for concern over New Labour's decision to build four asylum centres is whether such trial new builds are "prudent" and value-for-money for the public purse. What does Mr Brown say?

I shall read this literature and, if I find it offensive, shall return it without paying the postage.

WENDY HANDS,

Upton-upon-Severn,

Worcestershire.
