A GROUP of community spirited riders from Shipston-on-Stour held a great fun day and raised more than £5,000 for charity.
More than 400 riders with their horses turned up at Oxstalls Farm in Admington to participate in the 11-mile cross country course, and jump the 60 optional jumps.
Organiser Sue Cook said: "We were extremely fortunate that local landowners generously allowed the ride over their land, for without their help and support this event would not have been possible."
She said Macmillan Cancer Relief, St Swithin's Church, Quinton, Left Heart Matters, and Grass Sickness Research would be the main beneficiaries of the £5,200 raised.
A donation will also be made towards the purchase of a special chair for Stephen Radbourne who recently sustained serious injuries after being knocked off his bike near Clifford Chambers. Sue said: "He was an enthusiastic helper and fundraiser for our events and we would like now to help him."
