TENNIS: Host club members Lesley Reeve-Parker and Penny Marchant won the annual Ladies Doubles Open Tournament at Bewdley.
A turn-out of 22 couples played in sunshine with the heavy showers holding off until prize-giving.
Reeve-Parker and Marchant beat Diane Jones and Jane Stanley, of Cutnall Green, in an entertaining and hard-fought match.
The result meant Jones and Stanley ended as runners-up for the second year in succession.
In the semi-finals, Reeve-Parker and Marchant beat fellow Bewdley couple Tina and Mandy Sylvester, while Jones and Stanley beat Wollaston's Eleanor Simonds and Janet May.
The plate competition was won by Barbara Gadd and Pauline Terry, of Cutnall Green.
