A Street in Worcester has had its fair share of mix-ups thanks to a neighbouring road with a similar name.

And the latest confusion between Blanquettes Avenue and Blanquettes Road led to resident Keith Tipler's house being put up for "sale" - even though he has no intention of leaving.

Mr Tipler, who has been a window cleaner for 14 years, was astonished when he returned from his round to find the For Sale sign in his front garden in Blanquettes Avenue.

As his house had never been on the market, he phoned the estate agents Remax, who quickly came round to uproot the incorrect sign.

"I can only think it was either for a house further up the road or meant for Blanquettes Road," said Mr Tipler.

"I phoned my wife at work and we had a good laugh about it. I thought I'd tell her in advance because I didn't want her coming back home with the shock of thinking the house was on the market."

Previously, the couple said a neighbour was surprises when a furniture van pulled up outside his house to drop of a sofa meant for Blanquettes Road.

Trips around the block by residents to drop off post and parcels destined for their road's namesake have also become a regular activity.
