THERE was an enjoyable local derby at Salford Road last Thursday in a match that was all-square after ten ends.

Six ends later, the hosts had taken an eight-shot advantage and that lead was extended as Welford managed only to win six of the remaining 20 ends in a 28-chalk defeat.

Last Saturday, Bidford travelled to Birmingham but could only manage one winning rink in a defeat by 18 shots at Hall Green.

Boz Harris, Ernie Hall, Bill Ford and Roy Steventon were the visitors' rink winners.
