THE launch of the West Mid-lands Active Sports Talent Camp took place at the Cryfield Sports Pavilion, University of Warwick earlier this month.
The Talent Camps are the largest youth element of the 2002 Comm-onwealth Games Celebration and the leading sport aspect of the Spirit of Friendship Festival to mark the games in Manchester.
Over 1000 young people from eight different sports will be stepping into the shoes of elite athletes on July 13 and 14 at the West Midlands Camp.
This is one of a series of nine multi-sport Talent Camps across the county taking place throughout June and July.
John Roberts, Regional Director of Sport England West Midlands said: "It is great to see young people who have been identified by their respective governing body as having real potential getting the opportunity of experiencing top quality coaching, lifestyle management, training, sport science etc everything they need to motivate and inspire them.
"They will also have sole use of the excellent sports facilities available at the University of Warwick in Coventry for the whole weekend."
