ADAM Page took a hat-trick for Bromsgrove CC Seconds as they gained their first victory of the season in the Worcestershire Sunday League with a seven-wicket defeat of Old Elizabethans.
Bromsgrove, fielding six U16s as part of the club's youth policy, won the toss and put Old Elizabethans into bat.
And it seemed an incorrect decision as the opening pair put on a stand of 59.
But once the first wicket had been taken wickets fell steadily with Adam Page taking 4-29, including a hat-trick. Ben Rands also took 3-23 while Steve Chinn added 3-21.
Fielding highlights featured a spectacular diving catch by Chinn and an equally impressive tumbling catch by John Hansell.
Victory
Chasing a total of 148 runs to win, Hansell and Nick Taylor put on 74 for the first wicket.
Chris Thurbon (18) and Chris Rands (17) gave Hansell support as, with an innings of 92 not out, he guided Bromsgrove to victory.
