THE debate on the proposed Throckmorton refugee site is throwing up a great deal of interesting points.

However, there appears to be one which is often overlooked.

Whether certain individuals like it or not, the flow of migrants around the globe will continue as long as there is a marked difference in the quality of life between the "developed" and "developing" world.

Who can blame any migrant for leaving a life of poverty and disease when they feel they should have the comfortable standard of life enjoyed by ourselves?

Just think about what you would do if you had the choice of living in poverty, or leaving for a better life, and whether it is justified to continue berating migrants for attempting just that.
