AMONG the audience of some 12,000 who were fortunate to get tickets for the Prom in the Palace event on Saturday night, was former district council leader, councillor Nick Psirides and his companion, Marguerite Oliver.
Cllr Psirides said Marguerite, from Sandhills Lane, Barnt Green, was one of 2.5 million people who had phoned for tickets for the jubilee event in the grounds of Buckingham Palace and which were allocated by ballot.
"It was a memorable night, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it," Cllr Psirides who represents the Norton ward for the Conservatives on the council said later.
