HAGLEY Community Association's future has been thrown into doubt after the resignation of its chairman.
Gordon Shaw has stepped down as chairman after five years and the group is struggling to find a permanent replacement.
Now the village's parish council could take on the maintenance of Hagley Community Centre, which is currently looked after by the community association.
At a Hagley Parish Council meeting on Monday, May 20, councillors decided to call an emergency meeting to discuss the future of the community association.
Parish chairman Jim Austin said: "It has not been an easy year for the parish council but I think the next year will be even tougher because of the possibility of the community association folding."
Mr Shaw said: "Although being chairman of the community association is a voluntary job it is a full time responsibility and although I have enjoyed it I think I have done my time now."
