NINE wins from nine Cotswold League matches - that's the proud boast of league newcomers Moreton-in-Marsh.

Both teams stand proudly at the top of their respective divisions with the second string having won all five sixth division outings and their senior counterparts having recorded a quartet of Division Two triumphs.

Cotswolds rivals, Chipping Campden, felt the full force of the Moreton men as they slumped to 57 all out after the Batsford Roaders had amassed 181-7.

The second team fared even better, skittling Bearley Bears for just 34 in a facile eight-wicket success.

Exhall and Wixford's defeat at Shipston ended their hopes of maintaining their unblemished start at first and second team level.

However, the second string sit proudly aloft Division Three after losing just two wickets in passing Hockley Heath's 168-3.

Back in the Premier Division Kineton took advantage of Exhall's demise to move back on top after a six-wicket defeat of Wellesbourne - a result that relegated last summer's runners-up to a spot third from bottom.

Just below them are the 2001 champions Bidford, who got off the mark this term with an impressive seven-wicket win at Elmley Castle.

Rowington notched a fourth straight win in Division One when they comfortably overcame Ashton's 151.

Norton Lindsey had two more wickets to spare at Winchcombe while there were easy wins for Tanworth, Broadway and Alcester and Ragley to round off a nap hand for the top clubs.

Jamie Powell was Broadway's hero with 63 runs down the order and figures of 5-30 with the ball as Shipston seconds were dismissed for 127. Tim Morris hit 72 of Broadway's 248-9.

While Moreton are sweeping all before them in Division Two, Henley kept up the pressure with a hard-fought win over Alveston.

Catherine de Barnes were similarly tested in a narrow win at Stanway, while Badsey continue to suffer as they fell four runs short of their target at Wellesbourne.

Warwick County Council lost for the first time at Ebrington but Harvington's 60-run defeat of Norton Lindsey leaves Division Three a three horse race with Exhall comfortably ahead.

Broadway's second string won for the first time in Division Four after scoring nine runs more than hosts Kenilworth.

Bidford remain in pole position after seeing off the challenge of Henley with Alcester and Ragley and Winchcombe enhancing their claims with good wins.

Tim Lister, 62 and 3-43, starred with both bat and ball for Alcester.

Great Alne's batsmen had an easy afternoon after Claver-don were shot out for 71 but the Division Five leaders won't have it all their own way if Mickleton continue to show the form that annihilated Harvington.

The visitors were skittled for 72 in reply to Mickleton's daunting total of 265-6!

The top game in the bottom section saw Long Itchington get the better of Welford by 23 runs to move a close third behind their hosts and leaders Moreton.
