EVESHAM extended their lead at the top of Division Two of the Worcester-shire County League to 15 points after a Bank Holiday brace.

The Avon Street side made light work of disposing of Oldswinford on Saturday as Quinn Jones took five wickets for just four runs in a nine-wicket rout.

Namesake Paul chipped in with 4-22 as the visitors were shot out for 96, a total easily surpassed for the loss of four wickets.

Two days later and the Jones's were at it again!

Spin bowler Quinn picked up four more victims as Worcester Nomads were restricted to a Monday score of 153-9. Paul Jones then shine with the bat to rattle up an undefeated 58 in a winning reply of 154-3.

Leon Botha was in fabulous form with both bat and ball but his efforts failed to inspire Pershore to a double success.

The South African's unbeaten 52 helped his side pass Pedmore's 159-9 with eight wickets in hand on Saturday but a seven-wicket Monday haul proved in vain as Romsley and Hunnington clinched a thrilling one-wicket win at The Bottoms.

John Brookes top scored with 78 in a Pershore total of 201-9 but it was the visitors who collected the maximum 24-point haul to leave their victims fourth in the Division One standings.
