FEARS that thousands of travellers would descend on Castlemorton for a rave to celebrate the Golden Jubilee have proved unfounded.
Residents breathed a collective sigh of relief today after a quiet weekend in which they were able to celebrate the Queen's 50-year reign with the rest of the country.
A decade after the infamous rave, villagers had become increasingly worried they would be faced with a repeat performance as police patrols were stepped up across the area.
But the travellers never materialised - despite one villager finding a website advertising the anniversary rave.
The illegal festival in 1992 cost farmers, villagers and Malvern Hills District Council £16,000 to clear up.
Music could be heard more than five miles away and drug-taking was rife as 20,000 travellers swamped the picturesque common for the week-long party.
"We're so relieved," said one villager, who asked not to be named.
