A COMPANY that supplies medical de-vices to hospitals all over the world has chosen Droitwich as its global distribution centre.

Kimal plc has moved into new, purpose-built premises on Stonebridge Cross Business Park.

The move has already created 10 new jobs and more could be on the way under expansion plans for the company.

It will continue its manufacturing operations at its Aston Fields Industrial Estate site, in Bromsgrove.

The move to Stonebridge Cross Business Park is part of a plan to centralise distribution for the operation, which also includes a sales office and warehouse op-eration in Uxbridge, Middlesex, that services the south west.

Kimal plans to expand its 37,000sq ft new home by a further 10,000sq ft and has left ample room for further expansion in the future.

"We chose Stonebridge Cross because it is a strategic location for the company's newly centralised world-wide distribution operations following the relocation of distribution centres at Bromsgrove, Uxbridge and Runcorn," said Tim Proger, director of the company.

"The move to Droitwich has created 10 new jobs and we have plans to expand in due course."

Business park landowners AXA Reim is developing the 77-acre Stonebridge Cross Business Park in association with Birmingham-based Stoford Developments.

They have just completed a 90,000sq ft speculative phase of production and distribution space.

"We are very keen to attract local as well as national occupiers to Stonebridge Cross and we are delighted to welcome Kimal," said David Brown, a director of Stoford Developments.

"Their move coincides with the completion of the speculative development phase and with Robert Wiseman Dairies' announcement that it is to invest another £5.5 million in expand-ing its £35 million plant on the park."

Robert Wiseman Dairies built one of the largest and most modern milk processing plants in Europe on the park, commencing operations in April last year.

Tim Suffield, of Fuller Peiser, joint letting agents with FSD Savills, welcomed the move. He said: "The completion of Kimal's premises and the speculative phase is very timely."

"It comes as confidence returns to the market, evidenced by the number of parties we are talking to about occupying the speculatively developed units."
