WORCESTER'S Alice Ottley School performed with distinction at the Midlands Independent Schools Gymnastics Championships, held at the Bluecoat School, Birmingham.
A total of 55 schools took part with ages ranging from 5-13, and Alice Ottley came away with two silver medals, courtesy of their U13 advanced team and the U9 A novice team from their junior Springfield School.
The U9 team's Lian Young also won bronze in the individual competition.
The other teams also performed well with the U11 A advanced team finishing fourth and missing a bronze medal by just 0.7 points.
The U13 novices were fifth, the U11 B advanced team seventh, the U11 novice team fifth, the U9 advanced team sixth and the U9 B novice team seventh.
The teams, coached by Liz Wilkins, were wearing new tracksuits for the first time, bought following a fund-raising campaign and donations from the school parents association and the grandfather of one of the gymnasts, Graham Levett of Birds Group Services, Oldbury.
